The kitchen is one of the most used rooms in homes. When Gibson clients are planning their new kitchen layout we recommend these 7 features to make the most out of your space.
1. Storage, storage and more storage
If you want your kitchen to be functional, one of the most important elements to consider is ample storage space.
Think carefully about what you need to keep in your kitchen, and choose cabinetry to accommodate design selections such as pull-out spice racks, drawers on both sides of the island, and tall wall units.
Homeowners in B.C.’s largest urban centres will need to apply for exemptions from the province’s new speculation tax or receive a bill, whether they are speculators or not, the government announced Tuesday.
The Ministry of Finance said letters outlining the first speculation tax fees and exemption processes will begin arriving at all homes in Kelowna starting this week.
It will be up to all homeowners to apply for exemptions, with a deadline of March 31. Those who don’t apply, or qualify, will be sent tax bills due to be paid by July 2. The opt-out process will become an annual event for property owners under the new speculation tax rules. People who pay mistakenly can get a rebate within six years, according to the ministry.
Home gyms are no longer just the ultimate accessory for the fitness enthusiast. It has become increasingly popular for Gibson Contracting clients to request a designated home gym space. Whether you want a home gym to continue your current fitness journey or finally commit to your New Year’s Resolution, there are many advantages to having a home gym.
A home gym may seem like a large expense to begin with, but compared to the local gym membership fees that range from $1,000 to $5,000 annually. With a quality home gym budget of $5000, it will pay for itself in no time. Plus some gym equipment comes with a lifetime warranty, so you don't need to worry about replacing that spin bike every year.
